2013-06-22: Disabled cargo ship taken in tow by emergency tug. On June 22, 2013, at 11:45 a.m., the "OSTGARD" notified the semaphore Belle Ile about a technical problem with its main engine. Its port of destination was Rochefort and it carried a deck cargo of timber. The ship was located 13 miles south of Belle Isle and about 40 nautical miles from Saint-Nazaire. The ship drifted in southeastern direction in high swell. The emergency tug "Abeille Bourbon" at the same time sailed from Brest to another anchorage, and it was decided to head southwards to be closer to the "Ostgard". At 1 p.m. the ship reported to have found the cause of the failure. But at 4:35 p.m., the captain requested assistance. At 8:30, p.m. the owner finally signed a contract with a towing Company in Saint-Nazaire. On Jan 23 at 1:10 a.m. a tug took the "Ostgard" in tow towards Saint-Nazaire. The "Abeille Bourbon thus was ordered to return to Brest at 2:00 a.m. Around 4:30 a.m. the "Ostgard" broke lose. The "Abeille Bourbon", which was 37 nautical miles north of the concoy then, returned and was on scene at 6:39 The "Ostgard" was 15 miles west of Noirmoutier at that time. The "Abeille Bourbon" established a new towing Connection and headed to Saint Nazaire.
2014-12-00: Als onderdeel van een vervoerscontract met Nordkalk (onderdeel van de Finse Rettig Group) heeft Wagenborg van Bore Shipping (eveneens onderdeel van de Rettig Group) vier zusterschepen, gebouwd bij Peters, overgenomen resp. de "Nordgard" 1999 ex "Liamare" ex "Thalassa", "Westgard" 2000 ex "Sabinia", "Ostgard" 2001 ex "Rufinia" en "Sydgard" 2000 ex "Griend" ex "Polar Snow", die als "Nordborg", "Westborg", "Ostborg" en "Sydborg " in de vaart zullen worden gebracht.
2018-02-25: Collision in Gulf of Finland. In the morning of Feb 25, 2018, the bulkcarrier "Ourania", enroute from St. Petersburg to Ashdod, was in collision with the "Ostborg", which was enroute from Lomonosov to Tallin, in the Gulf of Finland south of the Porvoo Kalb├ądagrund lighthouse. The Coast Guard of the Gulf of Finland received notification at 10 a.m. The ship suffered a breach in the bow above the waterline but managed to continue their journey without external assistance. No one was injured in the accident. Presumably, the ice has slowed down the other ship's speed so the "Ourania" ran into its stern. Neither ship had loaded dangerous goods and there was no environmental damage. A Dornier of the Coast Guard Dornier was monitoring the site, also the "Uisko" was deployed to the area.
