Singapore, 22 december 1904. De eigenaar Wee Tek Seng te Riouw van het onder Nederlandse vlag varende stoomschip CHOW PHYA ontving een telegram, dat dit schip op 3 december (opm: 1904) te Teloban, op de Noord-Oostkust van het schiereiland Malay gestrand is. Er was geen schade en geen verlies aan mensenlevens. (opm: aangezien de Pertes van Bureau Veritas vermelden, dat het schip in februari 1905 is verloren gegaan, is aan te nemen, dat deze stranding van 3 december 1904 het einde van het schip betekende of inluidde).
