De ATLANTIC TRADER (ex-FAIRLIFT – 1969) arriveerde op 10-10-2003 ter rede van Puerto Cortes (Honduras),
10-11-2003 TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras Police arrested 11 Colombians and a Honduran who landed on Honduras Caribbean Coast aboard a small boat with 13 kilograms (29 pounds) of cocaine and US$5,500 hidden onboard. Authorities in Puerto Cortes, 120 miles (200 kilometers) from Tegucigalpa, the capital, discovered the drugs and
cash Friday in a false compartment hidden within the bowls of the "Atlantic Trader," a boat registered to owners in San Vicente in the Caribbean.
Also, I’ve added a nice pic of the Atlantic Trader that ran agroundnear Puerto Cortes, Honduras (not far from where I work with EWB). As an avid scuba diver I, like my
colleagues, love ship wrecks. They have been shown to make nice artificial reefs. So, let’s find a nice place outside of shipping lanes and sink these babies. The great advantage to this is they can be prepped in advance: chemicals removed, doors taken off, bubble holes created, etc. – all make for safer waters and safer diving. |
